Some Solo Dance

I stand pressed to her
Teeth against teeth
Our blood runs bitter and diluted
I feel claws, nail bites on my stomach
Yet I cannot turn away to look at her
She mimes and acid sinks through the bottom of my lungs
Touches my eyes with dusty fingers
Plants me with changelings of stillborn dreams
I open the mail and there's her letter
Spelling threats with clippings from a brand new calendar
Naturally no one has ever seen her
It's only the air enshrouding me, descending in slow motion
